If you want more leaked information check out this...

It has been widely rumored that the upcoming RV670 will support DX10.1. This white paper has been leaked out on the internet and it looks liek the real deal. The ATI Radeon HD 3800 series of GPUs will be the first to be designed for DirectX 10.1, as well as other cutting edge technologies, including PCI Express 2.0, Unified Video Decoder (UVD), hardware accelerated tessellation, and power efficient 55nm transistor design. Check out the DirectX 10.1 white paper here.

Speaking at AMD's financial results conference, President and COO Dirk Meyer said: "We will launch the RV670, the world’s first 55nm GPU in the fourth quarter." So if you want to know when they will be coming out you can bet money that they are aiming for the middle of Q4 if all goes well.

Seems a tad bit strange to me downgrading from a 512-bit to a 256-bit ring bus on this new GPU - sure, the extra bandwidth gains may not be very noticeable at oresent, but it couldn't hurt keeping it 512 surely?

One of the problems with 512 bits bus is that it requires a PCB with more layers which makes production alot more expensive.

Now I'm wondering if I should wait for this or get a 8800GT this week

I also think they lose too much by trimming the bus width in half. How does it compare to the competition? I'm still undecided on my next card.

But...overall, I'm not an ATI fan....so 8800GT FTW! 8)

I'm sooo tempted to get a 8800GT tomorrow, but at the same time... 2 weeks isn't that long. Especially since I was able to live with a crappy card for over a year :|
