Got my hands on an Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 processor, which is the fastest 45nm dual-core processor that Intel has on the market today.

I have been playing around with it on an ASUS P5E3 Deluxe motherboard and the results have been impressive so far.

At stock speeds the processor runs 333MHz with a 9.5 multiplier to reach the standard clock of 3.16GHz.

Just for fun I went into the BIOS and increased the front side bus from 333MHz to 400MHz while not touching a single other setting and the system rebooted and was running 3.6GHz at 400MHz FSB! The computer was 100% stable and no extra voltage was needed.

Not happy with just that I cranked up the Vcore to 1.45V and was able to reach 500MHz FSB with little effort. The processor was now running 4.5GHz with full stability! The processor still has more left in it as there are no errors and it's fully stable. More to come.
