Corsair COOL Water Cooling

Corsair has a new water cooler that consists of a high-pressure 12 volt pump that runs off the existing computer power supply. It uses a 120mm low-restriction radiator and 120mm cooling fan to chill the water. There is an all copper, 240-pin CPU cooling block that works with both P4(478/775) and AMD Athlon 64(K8). Below is an image of the kit.

Nice review. I have been contemplating picking one of these puppies up ever since the announcement of the release was posted. I'm not very knowledgeable regarding water cooling and I was concerned it may be a little difficult to install. I have plenty of room in my Lian Li PC-60 case so if I can talk the wife into loosening the purse strings I may just get one. Anyone interested in a slightly used Zalman CNPS7000B-CU heat sink fan?

Very easy to set up... mind you to either have another system to follow the CD, or to printo ut the instructions if you've never installed on before...but this is a very nice setup. Unlike most prefabbed kits, Corsair used very good components

I've personally seen this kit set up and in use numerous times and indeed it is very well put together. I'm not a big fan of the where the rad box is placed because it would make transporting the unit interesting. That said my main PC is sitting under my desk and never moves. Since 95% of computer users don't take their desktop to work with them it doesn't much matter.

All said and done it's a great kit for $202 shipped.

Luckily, I do have another system which happily resides next to my newer one. If I had a nickel for every piece of hardware I wanted... :roll:

My temps seem to run a bit high when I OC even a little but I'm using the ABIT AV8 board which hasn't exactly been known for reporting accurate temps. I've been wanting to re-seat my CPU fan just to make sure it's making good contact but I haven't gotten around to it. In the meantime I've kept it at stock settings.

Wow, Capper, nice review. I have been honestly thinking of doing a water cooling setup on my system, and this looks like the easiest setup for a first time user. Those temps were excellent. Thanks for a the details. I think I might take the plunge!!

I ended up re-seating my HSF last night and I'm still getting the same temp readings. I'll post a question elsewhere so I don't hijack this thread.

Will this kit, or the similar Swiftech H20-120-FB REV. 3 fit in an Antec Superlanboy case? I would also like to know if I could add a Swiftech VGA waterblock to either of them also, if the system could handle that addition. Thanks.

Oser, welcome to the forums.
First, I think an Antec Super LanBoy would have no problem with this setup. the fan and radiator are externally mounted on the rear of the case over the exhaust fan opening, the pump can be placed in several different configurations easily, and the resevoir fits in any 5.25 drive bay.
As to adding extra blocks to the system, I was told by Corsair that they are about to release both a chipset block and a video card block for the Cool. I see no reason why any 3/8 block would not work in this system, but if you can wait a few weeks I'm sure you can get your hands on the blocks specially made for this kit.

Thankyou very much for the information. I just recently found this website and I like it a lot. I have a few questions. I'm looking at either the COOL the H20 or the Bigwater for an 939 64 Athlon, which I would like to overclock as far as I can and run stably.
My questions are:

1. Which of these three would you recommend for a first time watercooling setup?
2. Is the mount for the radiator that the corsair kit comes with that important?(Since the H20 doesn't come with one).
3. Could I mount the radiator of the H20 without the cage mount thing? Or would that just not be a good idea?
4. I noticed that you removed your rear exhaust fan from you test case, would it be ok to install without the cage mount and also have an exhaust fan in back? Or is this just not possible?

[For cases I'm looking at either the Superlanboy or The Aspire X-Navigator case at this link, I believe that the X-Navigator would be better for the watercooling setup, it has a 120 mm fan in back and plenty of other fans included, it also has a built in fan controller, and probably more room. I bought the cool system from fry's Sat and installed that night when I got home and took plenty of time to make sure no leaks and proper length of hose. 1.5hrs and was finished badading badaboom. I run a prescott 2.8 overclocked 3.4 that was idle 61c and load 76c+.
I could not believe the control and temp drop. 50c idle and only a 55-57 in a loaded condition. This is my first step in the water cooling waiting for the right system and I do believe that I picked the right one.

This system rocks and should get plenty of ata boys....

Good to see you took the "plunge" :-P

Once you down down the water cooling route, you'll never go back!
My main reason is the noise, GET A FAN CONTROLLER!!!
When you are just on your desktop, lower you fan speed and enjoy the peace! then crank up the speed when you want to start a fragg fest

Afraid only ordered the camera --> don't worry will post some pics
also unfortunatly i'm not really into case mods etc. so It would look very nice:-P I have modded my case a bit (coolermaster atc-110) - case had a 80mm blowhole = now converted to 2x 120mm for dual rad
I have no neon lights etc. --> no case window!

I have ordered a brand spanking new OCZ Powerstream 600W --> since Nate wouldn't take a backhander in last competition

Anyone know how this system would stand up when adding a video card water block to it or a chipset cooling water block.

It will work, but you might want to wait till the latest water cooler from Corsair gets launched. The nautilus 500 is rated at 500Watts and that is more than enough for a single GPU and CPU.
