Geforce 6800 Series Launch Event

Our coverage of the Nvidia Geforce 6800 Series Launch

The card is out and so are the initial reviews. So far so good in terms of performance.

What do you guys think? Is the NV40 going to let Nvidia keep the crown after the R420 (x800) is shown here shortly?

Would you be willing to purchase a card with 512mb of memory for roughly $700 based on currently available game titles?

I wouldn't put anything past ATI for surprising the world with a great card. I was also very impressed with NVidia's NV40 numbers. There are a few bugs, but it definately looks like what they promised everyone!

I can't wait to see ATI's R420 solution next to the NV40. I believe the R420 is also rumored to have 16 pipelines!

This is another great moment in video card history!

BTW, anyone have word on how soon we can expect to have to downlaod DX9.0c?

All i can say is this: What a great time to have a video card war! Either of the new cards from NV and ATI are going to be just fantastic... probably overkill.... but still fantastic. Can't wait to see actual release cards hit the market!
