Hard to believe it is that time of year already. With all the economic mess, here's hoping the deals are especially good this year. O:)

I tend to stick to BFads myself. Regarding the Ace Hardware flier, they sent out this snippet in an email to their members:

We technically opened in the beginning of August when we received a
very "in-progress" Ace Hardware Black Friday 2008 advertisement. We
have since removed this advertisement at the request of Ace Hardware
because the ad is nowhere near finalized. The silver lining of the
removal is that Ace Hardware has promised to provide us with their
finalized advertisement upon completion in early November.

I love Black Friday. It was my favorite day of the year when i worked at WalMart. I still go in sometimes just to see the mania involved.

According to Sony they have no plans on reducing the price of the PS3, they must enjoy missing out on sales. They are not going to catch up with the Xbox360 or Wii unless they drop the price some. The less systems that they have out there the less games that software companies release for their system. If they are not careful, the software companies with stop making titles for the PS3. They will not produce titles for a system that they will not be able to sell alot of copies for. They will follow the system that sales the most copies, the Wii is getting alot of titles compared to the Gamecube. The PS3 is in the same situation that the Gamecube was in, slow system sales and alot of titles were not produced for it.

No console makes money based on the actual console, peripherals is where it's at! Just take a look at controllers, do you really think a controller has to cost $50? I bet they cost less than $10 to make.

"Enjoy missing out on sales"? Sorry, but last time I heard this last quarter (ending in September) Sony was outselling the Xbox 360 in global sales and also saw a significant increase in games sold with them. The definitive answer will be Q4 though, where the financial mess and Xbox price cuts have had time to register on sales figures.

yeah, I need a compressor and dryer for cleaning out PC cases. Saves a lot of time, and money as those $6-8 cans of air really add up fast.
