GTX260 - 55nm

Postby bhelms » Mon Nov 24, 2008 7:20 am

Supposedly GTX 260's bought in December will be 55nm models.

If this is true, is the wait of another month worth it?

I plan to be building/buying a new system next friday. I don't really want to wait, but I would if it's worth it. I would just suck it up and keep using my 7950gt for a while.

lol, you are the most indecisive person I know :P

55nm might actually be worth waiting a couple of weeks for. Hopefully there will be some way of knowing what you are getting before you get it though.

Who are you? Do I know you?

I have no idea what you are talking about....

:P

wellll yeah, I stay up too late looking into too much stuff, but I can't help it. I just happened to come across this information last night around 5 am... So I figured if I order around mid-december, from what I've been reading, then I'll end up with a 55nm. Just nervous because I'll end up losing combo deals and might end up paying a good bit more than I intended. Any idea how much they will cost? Will the price be higher/lower or just about the same?

7950gt for another month almost :|

But hey, If it all turns out good, I know I'll be happy [-o<

EDIT: Do you think EVGA would consider it a "step up" ? I don't see why not... Just want to ask a second opinion as always :)

I'm like you...it takes me awhile to figureout what I want and I do a lot of research beforehand. There's nothing worse than buyers remorse when you find out a week after you have bought something that you could have gotten a better product for less if you had looked around more or waited a week.

I get buyer's remorse every week when I get gas, it always drops 5 cents or more after I get gas. That's life, you have to plan the best you can. I would wait for the new core to come out, it is only a couple weeks. If you buy one right now you will see the numbers for the new core and hate yourself for the life of the card.

Research is half the fun of building a pc.
