CES 2009: CoolIT to deliver liquid cooling to GeForce GTX 295

While walking the show floor at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas we spotted the CoolIT Systems booth and figured that we would stop by and see what they were up to. It was around this time we spotted someone walking into private room carrying what looked like an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295 hooked up to the CoolIT Domino A.L.C. Sure enough it was the very first prototype water cooler for the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295 video card!

The spot where the old cooling fan used to be located is a water block now, which is strange to look at considering the card just launched while at the show and I just got done benchmarking one with a fan. No word on pricing yet, but with the CoolIT Domino A.L.C. costing just $60 at the show an inexpensive water block might make water cooling a GeForce GTX 295 the cost effective thing to do.
