NewEgg.com $50 rebate gift cards are suspended due to the bankruptcy of its rebate processor. NewEgg is not informing its customers of this suspension until after the customer has waited 8 weeks for their NewEgg gift card. Specifically, this problem exists on their gift card offer on the purchase of Microsoft Vista Ultimate w/SP1 operating system as a part of a combo offer extending through 01/31/2009. Let the buyer beware! Perhaps it is time to submit a complaint of fraud to the California Attorney General's Office? Is NewEgg near bankruptcy too? Is the goodwill & reputation of NewEgg so meaningless that its owners no longer care about us consumers?
I responded to the reader with "have a source for this?" and they responded:
I used the NewEgg chat line tonight (01/15/2009) to inquire about my NewEgg $50 Rebate Gift Card because I have been waiting for it for 8 weeks. I talked to Ruby on the chat line & she stated that the Gift Cards are suspended indefinitely because of the bankruptcy of the rebate processor CPG. The NewEgg offer was on a combo deal when purchasing the MS Vista Ultimate w/SP1 operating system & a motherboard between 11/01/2008 & 01/31/2009. I have a copy of the chat line conversation. His attachment looks good, so I thought I'd give everyone here a heads up as you might have issues in the weeks to come with the gift card.
