MDF or some kind of hardwood, anything but plywood. the terminals you have on those also look super lossy

only parts that are plywood are my handmade tweeter box(which i more or less threw together) and the pressed wood faces for the boxes with 10's

and, the terminals on the receiver?

You can usually find banana plug style terminals at Radio Shack for pretty reasonable prices. They have a spade connecter on the inside, so you'd solder the wire to a spade and connect that to the terminals, or you could solder them direct to the spade's I suppose. Banana plugs are widely accepted to be the standard speaker internconnect.

just a little update: my parents got a new bed frame, and its really big, so it came in big boxes with lots of styrofoam, AND 5/8" Particle Board! not sure why, but i wondered was it wide enough(got two pieces that were about 5' 10" long, and a little over a foot wide) got out the tape measure, and voila it's about an inch wider than i needed, so i took the speaker downstairs, and did the following:

few swings of a rubber mallet later..

ended up going with a divider since i had plenty of wood and like to use pounding bass

i have to make the holes for the speakers to set into now

put the woofer in and tried it out, there's a LOT of air getting out from around where the speaker screws to the particle board, but no air at all gets past that partition into the bay with the 6 1/5 and tweeter, it also comes out like a jet from this little hole the old crossover used in the back for a frequency knob, which surprised me since the hole is covered up by the new crossover!

(the crossover is slightly raised)
