Possible new 300 series card

Postby InspectahACE » Thu Apr 02, 2009 12:23 pm

TweakTown surprised me the other day.

Never thought I'd see that..although real early,it's a bit shifty to leave it with 896 per gpu though..hopefully it's not too much of a wallet rapist

I thought that myself too honestly, but there's a bit of coincidence with how they're remaking the 295 into one pcb with the 2 gpus(so I've read anyway)..so I wouldn't put it past them. It does pose a thought on whether 8 gpus are possible

it looks like its real to me :\ and you can guarantee the enthusiast market will climb to higher numbers of GPUs, i doubt it will slow down until there are 8 per PCB, and it is perfected.

what may seem far fetched now may become the norm in a couple years, i'm sure back when the first pentiums came out no one was expecting quad or 6-core CPUs!

Well as die size keeps getting smaller and power consumption decreases, maybe it'll be possible :supz:

That fan would have to be damn loud...

I'd hate having one of these cards. 4x the cores & memory, that's just 4x the risk of parts failing. It'd probably be a high RMA part and not last very long. :|
