Today AMD is celebrating its 40th anniversary and to celebrate how far they’ve come since the days of summer love and bell bottoms they want to give back to their fans – and your readers – for helping them reach this important milestone. In a series of contest giveaways that will take place over the coming months, AMD will be giving away more than 80 prizes ranging from smoking hot AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition processors to ultrathin notebooks to Xbox 360s.
This first contest, officially starting today, will give out a boatload of the recently launched AMD gear (some of which you’ve reviewed recently of course) including:
· AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition processors
· Athlon X2 7850 Black Edition processors
· ATI Radeon HD 4890 graphics cards
· ATI Radeon 4650 graphics cards
For the first half of the contest, we challenge AMD enthusiasts to submit a video (no longer than 60 seconds) wishing AMD a happy 40th anniversary in the most creative way possible. All imaginative manifestations are welcome, but the one requirement is that the video must somehow say, “Happy 40th Anniversary AMD.” Three grand prize winners will each receive a high-end ATI Radeon HD 4890 graphics card, and 40 first place winners will receive an ATI Radeon 4650 graphics card.
In the second half of the contest, AMD fans are invited to submit the most iconic photo they can create that expresses their enthusiasm for AMD, whether it’s an AMD tattoo (someone’s gotta have one), a souped up AMD rig, or an AMD logo shaped cake. The five most creative photos will be rewarded with a new AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition processor and an ASUS M4A78T-E motherboard. Eight second place submissions will receive a new AMD Athlon X2 7850 processor and a Gigabyte GA-MA780G-UD3H motherboard.
Photo and video submissions will be featured on AMD’s anniversary website. Videos and photos can be emailed to amdcontests@bitepr.com.
