Mobo help needed big time

Postby cil3x » Mon May 18, 2009 8:52 am

hello,
i'm currently using a Gigabyte GA-8IPD1000 ver 2.0 mobo. when i first got it, everything was running smoothly. great overclocking mobo.i got a 2.4 GHz P4 prescott up to 3.69 without crashing.i regularly overclock the mobo and CPU.i also had to do many repairs to my case because the back lid(the part that holds the mobo, not the closing lid) was too far back.then i noticed my sound wasn't working. nothing except the bios detected my onboard sound.can that be caused by me overclocking or was it the lid repairs?

question 2
u'm also planning to switch the S478 to an intel D101GGC desktop board. but unfortunatly, it can't overclock.and i'm not going to buy a new one.can i do something to make it overclock?

I'm assuming if you saw the bios detect it, that you made sure it was enabled. Could be the board or it could be shorting out due to the lid repairs. hard to say on my end really. Have you tried re-installing the sound drivers for it?

As far as the intel board, if you say it doesn't overclock then I don't see how it could regardless how hard you tried. Better off gettin a new board for that. I remember my old intel board for my socket 478 and there wasn't any OC options. Can't remember if my Asus board did or not(haven't used it in 4 years)

so do you have a hard drive issue or a sound issue?
