Intel D945 USB issue

I have a Windows XP Pro system with an Intel D945 motherboard. I suddenly cannot install any new USB devices (memory stick, iPhone, etc.). When I try I get a long delay followed by an inevitable message that the device could not be installed. However, existing USB devices still work on the system and the new USB devices work fine in other systems. Any thoughts?
