Kingston HyperX Ram Fan Review

Kingston's HyperX Fan was designed specifically to keep memory modules nice and cool. The dual 60mm fans optimize airflow around the modules helping memory run at peak performance for longer periods of time. We test it out on a water cooled Intel Core i7 system with 12GB of memory running at 1600MHz.

Kingston introduced the HyperX memory cooling fan at the beginning of summer to ensure that memory kits are kept nice and cool. Designed with the gamer and PC enthusiast in mind, its dual 60mm fans optimize airflow around the modules to help memory run at peak performance for longer periods of time. Decreasing the temperature of the modules also increases the lifespan of them and how far they can be overclocked. A memory fan is often overlooked when building a gaming PC and it really shouldn't be.

Is a product like this even necessary? How many people loose memory modules due to high temps? I can't say I ever have.

I have and known more than a few kits that lost their life to heat... It's mainly in systems like the one I tested in that use water cooling. I always use a fan on memory for ever system I test on and use in my personal life.
