A test I'd like to see run on a SSD: Use WinRAR to decompress a big, multiple file .rar file.
Reasoning: I use two computers all the time. One has a singe 160GB WD Caviar drive, the other has 2X1TB Samsung Spinpoints in RAID 0. To decompress a file with the WD it may take 2 minutes. With the RAID 0 setup the same file may only take 20 seconds.
Ignoring the differences in CPU speed, decompressing a file seems to be all hard drive based.
