Dell Auto-detect IDE drives

Postby unfaithfulsfan » Wed Nov 04, 2009 11:47 am

I've got a Dimension 4550 on my bench that is not seeing the hard drive. I had originally pulled the drive to run virus scans on it but my PC insists on initializing it before it will let me see the drive contents. ( I have NOT initialized the drive, just so you know)

Does anyone remember the ALT key combination to autodetect a drive on Dell PCs? Since I've been on disability I've forgotten more tidbits like that than I care to admit.

Thanks,
Jack
