blue screen and error code on vista laptop

hi all im a new bee not sure where i should post this.my friend has a blue screen with error code message telling her to uninstall software and hardware last added and that the registry and configuration is wrong we tried doing the f8 fing and also diagnosis and checking system files but nothing at all except the blue screen with error code.my friend didnt back up her system in febuary 08 wen she got it and now the shop dont want to know sh she has a recovery cd coming in the post bu has not arrive yet,is there a way she can get her windows to work please.
