Depending on the model it should, all the dells are mATX boards. What to watch for is on the older ones sometimes they made the cooler mounts part of the mobo tray. the Intel socket 478 I have are all like that. The cooler retention bracket bolts through the board and into the tray.

Then there is Dells whole BTX phase...

I have not had the boxes open yet, so I do not know about the insides. Sorry if I am asking dumb questions, but what is moba tray?
Is there any way to tell which Dell boxes I have, mATX or BTX, from the outside?
If I where to buy this board for both computers then I would have to buy the Windows 7 operating system, the amount of memory that I want and larger HD since both compters have only 40GB in them. These should be able to be used as 2nd HD, right?
Would doing this better then just getting something from DELL or someplace?
Thank you for the help.

One computer, the older one, is a DIMENSION 2400 and the newer one is a DIMENSION 3000.
Then I would have to get memory chips, hard drives and what else? Where would a good place be to look for these things?
Thank you

This will fit in a 2400 or 3000 case (I have about 60 of them between the two here at work) BUT the front panel connectors for the audio, usb, and power switches are not standard, custom for dells. They wont plug in to this board.

You would need a new case along with the ram. I would suggest Coolermaster Centurion 541

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6811119088

Also, your install disk from dell will not work with non-dell motherboards. Your CD key will work with an OEM windows disk, but the install disk that came with your dell will not work.

Thank you Babba for the price info.
Now I have a price on a mobo/cpu & box, now I need a suggestion on where & what kind of memory chips to put in. I normally go to pricewatch.com for prices. I am then going to need HD's(at least 320GB) and am I going to need a video card?
Where would be the best place to go to get the best price for Windows 7 premium 64 bit?

Its easier to just get a cheapo case or you can make your own connector. It should only take you a few hours and a few Tylenol 8)
