a freind called me and she said she had 3 "broken" laptops and I can have them for parts if i wanted them -she took two of them to BestBuy to fix them but they said they wernt worth fixing and convinced her to buy a new one. Anyway i get them home and plug em in. I concluded one had a bad power cord and the battery wouldnt charge so it did nothing when you tried to turn it on because the battery was dead. The second one has a bad battery that wont hold a charge - it boots up then turns off right away.. I spent $65 for a new battery and power cord. makes me realize how bad the geeksquad is. so for $65 went from no laptops to two newish ones.. good day i guess.

well yeah but i guess if best buy tells you they are busted why bother having anyone else look at em...

Why don't you give them back to your friend...? Say you helped her fixed it and just get her to pay you back.

My friends ask me for computer help, but they'd rather go to Geek Squad cus they know what they're doing. Apparently, my friend's friend brought her computer to Geek Squad so she could get a hotmail account. Cost? $25.

well i got the new power cord and battery... i guess power cord wasnt the problem - and it seems like this new battery wont charge either. i am going to open up the lappy that the power cord doesnt want to connect and see if there is a bad connection inside. Not sure what the problem with the new battery could be. I tried updating the bios and all that did was lost my internal wireless
