Laptop to TV with AVerTV Box Genie

i want to use my 27in TV as my monitor using laptop. the laptop only has HDMI and D-sub output. the TV can only receive Component and S-video input.

can i use AVerTV Box Genie?

the manual doesnt clearly says i can use it.

no you need something that takes VGA (D-SUB) input and converts it s-video or component

i'm not sure if there is a vga-RCA dongle, but i know there is a DVI-RCA though

that AVerTV just takes VGA or Svideo and outputs VGA

well, i decided to revive my old celeron based pc and that's the im gonna use. AGP video card though.
