New Overclock Heights :)

Postby DJ Tucker » Tue Jun 07, 2011 12:11 pm

I have been overclocking my system since i recieved my new mobo and have had alot of luck. my old board would not allow me to overclock my FSB above 375mhz or would it let me overclock my gpu above core:660mhz Shader:1625mhz Memory:950mhz without PSU crashing out/safety power off. but with that i recieved a score of 14826 in 3dmark06. Now here is my new stable overclock as confirmed by OCCT 3.1.0 Power Supply Test for 1 hour :)

CPU from: 3.562ghz to 3.68ghz at 1.12v
Memory 1:1 Ratio from: 750mhz to 775mhz at 2.0v Timing 5-5-5-15-20 2T
GPU from: Core: 660mhz to 720mhz Shader: 1625mhz to 1800mhz Memory: 950mhz to 1000mhz

New Temp Results:
Idle:
CPU: Core 1: 29c Core 2: 29c
GPU 1 (Top): 41c GPU 2 (Bottom): 41c
HDD: 23c
Motherboard: 34c

Load:
CPU: Core 1: 44c Core 2: 44c
GPU 1 (Top): 68c GPU 2 (Bottom): 68c
HDD: 27c
Motherboard: 43c

This got me a score of 16056 in 3dmark06
LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK?

keep pushing that chip, it should do 4ghz no prob

(my e6300 conroe is overclocked 163MHz on the FSB from 266 to 429 with its default multi)

unfortunatly after 2 hours of power supply testing in occt my over at 3.8ghz froze my pc and wasn't bootable until i got it down to 3.66ghz and now it's stable at this speed :( want to push but can't  at least i got my GPU overclocked a bit more check sig!

I don't use OCCT, it stresses TOO much. I've never run into a real world app that stresses like OCCT. Try LinX and see what happens.

I use Prime95 blend for Mem/CPU overall stability testing, small fft for CPU/vcore max heat testing

and that chip can take 1.40v easily, so don't be afraid to bump the voltage (just don't bump PLL more than 3-4 times)

well i ran furmarks and prime together giving me same as power supply test in occt and got the same problem so it seems my GPU can handle the overclock no probs but my CPU refuses to go above 3.66ghz without boot failure or freezing :(

take a picture of the bios screen that deals with overclocking and look at the limits for vcore that your motherboard allows (my UD3R goes from like .85v to 2.2v for vcore, but your range will be much smaller because it is a budget board)

sry i havnt been on much to help with this
