WD Scorpio Black 750GB Notebook Hard Drive Review

The Western Digital Scorpio Black Series are known to be some of the fastest 7200 notebook hard drives that money can buy. The largest capacity drive in the Scorpio Black family is the 750GB drive that goes by model number WD7500BPKT. We take a look at this 750GB monster to see how this 7200 RPM drive with 16 MB of cache performs on the test bench and then in a notebook for some real world testing!

The WD Scorpio Black 750GB laptop hard drive is no slouch as we saw really impressive performance numbers that actually shocked us a bit. For example we saw 128MB/s read and 125MB/s write speeds in the CrystalDiskMark sequential read/write tests and these are great for any traditional hard drive. Just because notebook hard drives are only 2.5" in size doesn't mean that you can't find good performance with them...
