XMS price

With the release of their XL series, do you guys expect to see a price drop in the regular XMS series ,(twinx1024-3200c2pt) if so how quickly do you THINK it might go down and by how much. I realize you have no crystal ball but your alot closer to the industry than me and have seen trends in the past, I am sure.

Prices also will depend on over all production in the ram market. when winbond stoped producing chips it created a shortage of ram and thats part of why prices have been sky high latly. Now with .11 micron chips in production we should see prices drop down to last years levals by the end of the summer.

Merlin,

Don't expect XMS prices to drop. This is just a replacement in the line... XL is going to phase out LL in the long run. The only reason XMS DRAM prices would go down is if the market went down. Also keep in mind that alot of Corsair memory uses Hynix IC's, which carry a large tariff. So the answer is that XMS C2 parts won't be able to drop much, other than market wide changes

keep in mind guys, the Winbond RAM supply is drying up at about the same time this fast new Samsung chip hits the market. I wouldn't expect prices to move much just due to the new Samsung RAM.

...but of course if RAM prices across the whole industry move then XMS prices would probably follow the industry.
