Yes you can run that ram at lower than raited speeds, and you may evern be able to lower the voltage. It looks like most of the XMS runs at 2.5v so you can keep it there or try a lower voltage. Test to see if its ok using prime95 that will tell you quickly if there is not enough voltage as the program will crash, or you will not be able to load windows, you will either get a BSOD or a black screen. if any of those happen give the ram some more voltage and that should stabilize it. As for timings try them out try 2-2-2-5 or 2-3-3-7 and see where its stable. Like overclocking you have to test for stablity.
