Ok is the motherboard the same manufcturer as the previous? Ie Intel to intel, or AMD to AMD?

I never did any uninstallation and driver cleaner when I just switch motherboards, I just switched them. keep in mind that it may or may not work, I can go a few times, and then have one completely fail to allow it. If you going from intel to amd or visa versa, I never have gotten it to work, and always had to reinstall the OS.

It is best to just except a fresh windows install.

it is AMD to AMD but its Gigabyte to ASUS. I guess I will try to just do it and see what happens.

Really depends on what kind of thermal compound you use. If not sure, than I would be concerned.

if it's a conductive TIM it would be a big deal of course.
