Skooba Design has introduced a unique new bag to help on-the-move techies travel more efficiently. The Laptop Weekender V.3 is a "hybrid" carryon bag that combines the protection and organization of a laptop/electronics case with the packing capacity of a high-end travel duffel. The Weekender provides ample room for a day or two of clothing and travel necessities, or gym/sports gear, along with dedicated compartments for a laptop, iPad, and full complement of portable electronics. This all-in-one design eliminates the need to carry a second carryon for leisure travel, or other situations where a separate business case isn't needed.
The Laptop Weekender boasts over a dozen pockets and organizers surrounding the large main packing compartment. A laptop up to 15" stores in its own fast-access rear pocket, protected by Skooba's exclusive Bumper Bar™ padding. The front accessory section features padded storage for phone, audio, camera, cables, accessories and more. One of the large end pockets includes a padded sleeve for iPad or e-reader, the other additional storage space for travel supplies. All compartments are fully-lined and feature double-zip closures.
Some of the many other features include Skooba's patented Superbungee™ shock absorbing shoulder strap, double handles with hypalon hand grip, and grab handles at both ends for easy removal from overhead compartments. A trolley strap on the back of the bag slides over any luggage handle for secure transport, and a rubberized bottom protects against moisture and abrasion.
The Weekender is the latest addition to Skooba's flagship V.3 collection, and like the other bags in that family, is made of tough but lightweight micro-ballistic nylon that's water-repellant treated and massively reinforced at all stress points. High-end hardware and trim - down to a machine-bolted logo plate - round out the detailed finishing touches. The bag weighs a shoulder-friendly 42 ounces and fits easily into any standard airline overhead.
According to Skooba CEO Michael Hess, "we set out from the beginning to craft an exquisite piece of serious travel luggage and then build professional-grade technology storage around it." Hess says "I like it because I can look like I'm actually on a relaxing weekend trip... and still have all my gear at hand. It's like a road warrior's tech-cheater bag."
The new Laptop Weekender V.3 will start shipping in the beginning of July, at a suggested retail price of $179.95. Pre-order information, full specs and other details can be found at http://www.skoobadesign.com
