GIGABYTE GA-A75-D3H FM1 Motherboard Review

With the recent release of the new AMD A8 Trinity APU's, we wanted to take a look at the previous generation motherboards. The GIGABYTE GA-A75-D3H is an AMD FM1 motherboard with all the latest bells and whistles. We are going to take a look at the overall performance compared to a much more expensive platform and see how it stacks up. How does it do? Join us and find out!

I'm still a fan of the AMD FM1 APU platform, and with the recent launch of the second generation APU 'Trinity' the FM1 platform is a very strong budget play. We could easily pair the GIGABYTE A75-D3H with the AMD A8-3870K APU and 8Gb of Corsair Vengeance memory for under $250 shipped to our door. Toss in a Kington HyperX 3K 120Gb SSD for only $64.99 and you can have yourself a fast system for about the price of the Intel Core i7 3770K processor alone!

Nice review!!
I've owned the GA-A75-D3H or about 1/2 year, and I have nothing but good about it.

The only minor problem I had was temperature monitoring.
- idle temps showing as 0*C or lower than ambient
- Random sensor showing 90+*C somewhere

Load temperature seems to show up okay, though...

Since you guys have the board at hand, mind looking into it?

I used the following apps to monitor the temps and such
- AMD OverDrive (?)...the tool that you can download from AMD
- Latest version of EasyTune from Gigabyte
- CoreTemp
- HWMonitor

Cooler Master HAF 932 // Phenom II 1090T @ 4.1GHz (not 110% stable) // ASUS Crosshair V Formula 990FX // Thermaltake Frio CPU Cooler // Sapphire Dual-X HD 7970 @ 1150/1500 // 8GB (2X4GB) G.Skill RipJaws + 8GB (2X4GB) G.Skill RipJawsX @1600 8-9-8-21-1T // Corsair TX850 // Corsair ForceGT 120GB SSD // Kingston V200+ 120GB SSD // WD Caviar Black 1TB // LiteON DVD-RW // Windows 7 Ult. 64-bit
