NF3 250Gb (754) - OCZ can stable @ 2-2-2-5 w/ df vdimm

I'm using OCZ Dual Chanel Kit in dimm 1 & 3, vdimm at default(2.8v), speed at default 200MHz ...I just set the timming to 2-2-2-5 cause I know my DDR can run at that timming...however..because I dun OC my OCZ so...will my OCZ stable ?

If your ram is rated for 2-2-2-5 then it will be fine @ ddr400!!!

do you know which OCZ sticks your using?

Gold / VX / Platinum ?????

They can OC upto ~ddr440 (220MHz) with 2.8v
If I'm not overclocking they run stable with 2.65v (2-2-2-5)

If your not overclocking use 2.7v and you should be fine (stable)

Thant ram can take high voltage and overclock well (with 2-2-2-5) BUT if you use over 3v you need to put a fan near it to keep it cool

thx so much... I did same as you...I didn't OC anything (CPU, FSB, vcore...) my default FSB is 200
I just let the vdimm at 2.8v cause it's the df vdimm of BH-5 :D (from OCZ web site) then..I set the timming at 1T 2-2-2-5 @ 200 MHz (FSB/DDR : 1:1)...I can only boot to win XP only one time...After shutdown my PC ..and start again...only black screen ???...sometime..I see"detecting array.."---> so I change my OCZ from dimm 1+3 to dimm 1+2 but same result !!

I can only boot to win XP until I set timming at default (Auto)and vdimm @ 2.8 -->then I open CPUz v1.32...oh my god..my OCZ is running @ 2.5-3-2-7 ...is it normal with an OCZ Winbond BH-5 ?

What is happening ? is it true that my OCZ gold Edition BH5 can only run @ 2-2-2-5 when being OCed ?

Your ram CAN do 2-2-2-5 @ stock -> your best to give 2.7v or 2.8v to be sure

The reason why it boots @ 2.5-3-2-5 when set to auto is because OCZ programmed them that way. They done that to make sure it will work with all motherboards. --> Mine do that too!!!

When you set to 2-2-2-5 make sure to set the other timings to auto, you can lower them later.

Try increasing the chipset voltage to 1.67 ~ 1.69v
There is also a Dram Drive Strenght setting on that board....by default it will be on 1 --> try increasing it a little - mayby to 3 or 5

The fact that you can boot into windows means your very close to the right setting!!!

Also set yout Tras to 10 --> works best with that board
should be : 2-2-2-10

I just want my OCZ run at 2-2-2-5 normally without OC'ing the FSB and DDR speed !! how can I do it..I tried 2.8v vdimm --> didn't work

I did..but notthing different !!!

It's true that my RAm can stabe 2-2-2-5 @ stock ...@ 2.7v

but..after shut down my computer .. unplug power cable, then start again ---> cant boot !!! that's the problem !!! please help me

could be that the memory controller thats integrated into the cpu core is a weak one. with the Newcastle the best mem controller is Rev. CG.

are you sure you're setting your memory to 200mhz in the DRAM section? i have TCCD ram and BH5 Mushkin. altho i've only ever tried my TCCD on my fresh build nf3 dfi (which died on me waiting on RMA) using 504 bios is could get setting 200, 1T, 2.0-2-2-10-16-19 with everything else left alone, i was able to get 230mhz stable.

try using DIMM 2&3 ...i use 1&2 .. i know you've tried 1&3 which i have tried and i got no boot.

when you clear your cmos after tweaking memory and getting e mem lock up, you should pull everything off the mobo, cept the cpu, and including the power cables, the rear ps/2 usb all that and then set the cmos to clear and then remove the cmos batt. let sit for about 30mins. the replace and boot back up. only if you can't get the system started after a hard memory lock.
