Is it time for the new RAM or is it not?

Ok comrades now I have this question.

I have 2x512MB Corsair XMS 3200LLPT In my pc. Well I was thinking I might be needing an upgrade to maybe 4X512 or 2X1024.
In case of the 2X1024 it would mean I'll sell the 2x512 for a nice price.
It's quality ram running 2-2-2-5 1t over here and it's new price is roughly 250 euro's. I guess I could sell my ram and buy for example a nice 2x1024 mushkin set like in the last contest. Or should I spend another 250 Bucks to get another 2x512 3200LLPT?

Well I only have a 15Inch screen so would it be worth it?
And when It would be worth it, what should I choose?

I might upgrade later since I have this AM2 upgrade slot on my board which will enable DDR2 and the AM2 slot in the future. But maybe I should take a new mobo when the time comes cause the chipset will be old??

I thought that board was socket 939 and DDR1.... No way to upgrade those unless you buy a whole new board unless I am missing something here.

Yes it is a DDR1 board but it has an upgrade slot whiich adds some kind of card which adds an AM2 slot+ DDR2 Banks.

ah thats the board with the yellow CPU upgrade slot and the 4 jumpers. While I like the idea of being able to upgrade the CPU socket you will still be limited to the south bridge on this board and then factor in the cost of the upgrade card. If the upgrade card is $50-$70 then I'd rather go buy another board for $100-$150 and get the most recent power system and chipsets.

You sure your 3200LL is not rated 2-3-2-6 instead?
Or have you got one of those really really early 3200LL with 2-2-2-5 on BH-5s?

Motherboards are fairly cheap nowdays you can just get another one and sell the old for a decent price. Plus the benefit of able to extract more performance through overclocking compared to your board which is less overclockable.
