Been holding off upgrading my system for a while due to not being able to find the parts I need and because no games I wanted were coming out. With Oblivion on the horizon though...

Would it be possible to dump the BIOS of the card? It is because we are currently holding up the release of NiBiTor (NVIDIA BIOS Editor) until someone provides us a Original BIOS of a GeForce 7600 GT based card... So if you could that would be nice! And awesome review mate! ;)

I'll let Brian answer that question, but these cards can be easily run in SLI if another one is purchased. ATI does allow two cards to be run together and that is called CrossFire. ATI's CrossFire is similiar to NVIDIA's SLI as both allow two cards to run together.

From what I have read it looks like two of the 7600GT XXX cards would be the equal of a single 7900GTX or X1900XTX in most situations.

I have done some reading up on preliminary GTO tests and it would seem that nVidia's 7600GT XXX is the superior card. Pricing on the GTO has yet to be confirmed but estimates put them right on same level.

Even if ATi's GTO is £10 or £20 cheaper I'd still go for the 7600 purely because on the 3Dbenchmark tests the 7600 is faster by a noticable amount.

The ATI X1800 GTO carries an MSRP of $249.99 US
The nVidia 7600 GT carries an MSRP of $199.99 US

I'm not sure where you saw that the X1800 GTO will be the same as the 7600 GT, but from the internal sales numbers from a number of video card companies I can tell you that they will not launch at under $200.

Building a new system. MB has no onboard video out ports and the 7600 GT has ony 2 DVI's. When I try to start my new system, I get no video, I am guessing because default video out for MB would be VGA?

How do I do this?

I may have expected too much from this card, anyway I'm a bit unsatisfied with the performance and I intend to upgrade my pc. Asking for opinions: Is it more worthy to change my m/b (chaintech VNF4, which is very stable at normal timings but terrible overclocker) and buy a high-end DFI or Asus SLI-supporting and then buy a second 7600gt, or to save the money for a high-end graphics like 7900gtx or x1900xt (I reeealy want to play Quake 4 HDR+AA so it may be x1900)?

Make sure you disable the onboard GFX card in the bios........then use the adapter on the DVI connection on the new GFX card to connect your monitor

What are your system specs?
What CPU are you using?
HDR and AA is nice but in most cases it drops the frame rate so low it's not playable.......

Here's an issue also posted in my m/b review thread:
When in dual channel, the RAM modules appear as cl2, ddr333. Does this also appear in other m/b when using dual channel?
