Display Corruption on SK8N

Postby Mr. Chan » Sun Aug 22, 2004 11:19 am

Hey, I have a friend with a SK8N, FX51, 9800P and a gig of...ram, lol.

Anyways, I noticed when he rebooted yesterday there were like...white-looking scanlines coming vertically down his screen as it showed the bootscreen during POST...I asked him about it and he said it happens sometimes, but very rarely. He said he has to restart to fix it...

Does anyone know anything about this? I thought I heard something about the SK8N or it's bios but I don't remember...I'm not sure much about his comp, I'm more curious about this than he is...lol!

Had that on several ATI 9800 AIW cards and turned out to be bad memory on the video card... I've seen several other people run into the same issue. Reboots may work for now, but eventually the card will go out. Best bet is to RMA it before it totally goes out.
