Yeah, something made them gunky. I was blaming it on the fact that I hadn't flushed out the radiator before my first install (noob mistake), but it could have well been that. I've now properly flushed out the rad, and cleaned both blocks, and the pump. So we shall see how the pipes hold up.

I did it in flash anyways, and the gif it exported didn't look as nice as the flash, so i just threw that up.

I'm not sure about self contained systems, but for separates (in the radiator), you have to flush out the flux from the solder they use, so basically running the system with distilled/deionised water a few times (or fill the rad up and shake it about ). Some people use vinegar to eat away at the stuff first, but you can't leave that in longer than an hour or it reacts nasty with the copper of the radiator (and have to flush it out lots).

That's one of the reasons I'm excited about FF3.0, it supports APNG, which is basically a PNG file that is animated, making the GIF obsolete. In truth, I'd love to see better SVG support but APNGs make me happy as well...BTW I find it funny that somebody is still knocking on your IDE cable Dan (and it's not me )

There isn't really anything to tell. It's pretty much in the same state it was since I last put it together.

Wow, 4 months is a long time for me not having stripped down my PC!

I think all I have done since is:

- Put in an E8400
- Removed the 'backup' 250GB drive for another computer to have
- Replaced it with a WD 500GB USB MyBook I won (my first win online ever!)
- Took the PC outside for a late spring clean
- At some point my OCZ Reapers went bad, so I had to RMA them and fall back to my Ballistix. I'm convinced my board eats RAM as this is the 3rd memory kit I've had to RMA (first two were the ballistix), could just be a side effect of overclocking with the stupid NB volts this thing needs.

And I think that is it.

It's desperate for a windows re-install, the failed Reapers were slowly corrupting my data before I tracked them down, and there are quirky things about my install now. Like windows messenger starts up every boot (despite being disabled ) and shutdowns take forever. I'll get round to it eventually, but I'm just too lazy at the minute.

It'd be covered up by the draws the PC is next to anyway.

I know it looks awesome on the inside, and it'd kill the understated simplicity of the P180 with a great big window in it!

I'm getting itchy to get a new case, so the modding front might have something to look out for in the future.

I should probably update my signature, as I've swapped out everything but the PSU on this machine now :D

It's a lot messier than it was, so I'm not posting pictures with this update!

After tearing all the new parts out of my Thermaltake Spedo, tearing out all the P180s parts, then putting the new parts back in the P180 I really couldn't be bothered to tidy up all the wires this time, and the 8pin mobo power is in a different place so that's more cable mess to deal with. I need a SATA DVD drive too as the IDE is in the wrong place for my cable origami.

So I should probably update my signature, but new specs are:

Antec P180
PC Power and Cooling 610W Silencer
2x 640GB WD6400AAKS in RAID0
ATI 4850 512MB
Asus P5Q3 Deluxe Wifi@n
2GB GSkill 1800Mhz 7-7-7-18 DDR3 RAM

So now that it's under water, I should be able to have a nice little play with overclocking :D
