ATI's RD400 Board Picture & Info

Postby Apoptosis » Sun May 22, 2005 10:04 am

ATI is going to show off their RD400 chipset that supports Multi VPU technology during Computex. The new RD400 will be classed under the Radeon Xpress 200 series and will be paired up with ULi M1573 to power the southbridge. Note the space between the two PCI Express x16 slots is very narrow meaning that one single slot video card sloutions will work on this board. Looks like ATI's upcoming cards are on a diet and are single slot solutions!

Note how it has two PCI Express 16x, two 1x, and two PCI slots.

wouldn't the small space between the pcie slots also mean that cooling for the cards will suck ass?

Yup, cooling will be a problem.............LOL.

I really like the ATI AMD board myself, even if it only has 1 16x PCI-e slot..
