RAID is where you have two or more hard drives that are the same capacity & speed, and depending on the RAID mode used (there are several different ones), windows will see the drives as just one drive and you will either have data redundancy (incase one of the drives breaks, your data can be saved), or faster speed (but if one of the drives breaks, then you can loose your data completely).
