Anyone Folding on a GeForce GTX 285

Postby Apoptosis » Sat Oct 10, 2009 3:29 pm

The highest I can get my shaders on the GeForce GTX 285 is 1505MHz...

Just curious if I got a crap card or if this is about as high as others on our team is getting. Just seems like WU's are going slow on this card.

my GTX275 is set to 1566, so I assume the 285's can do that too. I even had it at 1620 for a while but the temps were too high for my taste so I lowered it. as for the shader clock you have, remember that the speed is counted in 54 point steps, so if you can't go over 1505, than just lower it to 1458 mine as well. you will not have less performance than now:

Nvidia shader overclocking; It has been mentioned before, but I can repeat that "shader" speed is counted in 54 point steps. I.e.
[...]
1404
1458
1512
1566
1620
1674
1728
1782
1836
1890
1944
1998
2052
2106
[...]

Setting to 1800 = same effect as 1782, 1750 = 1728, 1850 = 1836, 1900 = 1890 etc.

Thanks for that... I remember you posting that before, but forgot...

Next time I get a new WU and am not in the middle of one I'll see if I can get 1512 stable... I think it locks up though, but hey it's worth another shot.

Have you tried tweaking the voltages? I think GTX285 supports voltage tweaking, but not too sure. EVGA and I believe ASUS has a program for tweaking the voltages for the top of the line GPUs.
