I am using the MS one - the Live Essentials- pretty much the same as Windows Mail, but has some improvements. Works good enough for email for me using my verizon, 2 gmail, aim, and a hotmail account

I personally use Gmail for everything but, the wife still uses a Charter acct.
I'm going to check out windows live and Thunderbird and see which one she likes better!

Gmail here, too. Makes it easy to change ISP's. I used to use Gmail with Thunderbird, but in the end, checking my email via web browser won out. Plus, I don't need to worry about having my email synchronized on various computers.

Yeah, the changing ISP's & sycning with other PC's is a draw back to using my ISP with Windows Live Mail.

I am using Thunderbird 3 to manage multipe Pop and Imap (Gmail) email accounts.

at work I have set up many people with Thunderbird 3 to use IMAP and POP3 as well as Outlook 2007 (SP2) for exchange and everyone seems to be working smoothly. And by gmail does everyone mean online? or does google have a downloadable client now?

I have several email accounts spread across yahoo, Gmail and Hotmail. I tried Live Mail but it didn't work that well with yahoo so I switched to Thunderbird and have no problems with any of my accounts. Outlook is usually a solid choice but i find the interface to be cluttered and confusing whereas Thunderbird is easy to configure.
My only gripe with Thunderbird is that since Hotmail doesn't support IMAP if you have your own folders set up in your inbox online you won't be able to access them from Thunderbird.

I use gmail and outlook 2007 for my school e-mail, makes it easier for me to sort through e-mails and schedule priorities. I'm sure you can do all that with gmail but I never bothered to try.
