VLC with GPU acceleration is out!

Grab it here - http://www.videolan.org/

What's new?

Ready for HD
* GPU decoding on Windows Vista and 7, using DxVA2 for H.264, VC-1 and MPEG-2
* GPU decoding on GNU/Linux, using VAAPI for H.264, VC-1 and MPEG-2
* DSP decoding using OpenMax IL, for compatible embedded devices
* Improved support for MKV HD, including seeking fixes, and 7.1 channels codecs
* Support for new codecs, like Blu-Ray subtitles, MPEG-4 lossless and VP8

NB: so far, on Windows, VideoLAN is quite sad to be forced to recommend nVidia® GPU, until ATI® fixes their drivers on Windows, and until VLC developer get access to some Intel® hardware supporting GPU decoding.

I use VLC(1.0) almost exclusively except for Win7 MC recorded TV, seems nothing supports the wtv file except the newer versions of WMP or MC itself!
Whenever you convert the wtv file to something supported by VLC or any other player the audio and video are out of sync!

Does this new version support .wtv files?
ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 - AMD 965BE
16G GSkill RipJaw - CoolerMaster V8 HSF
Corsair HX750 - OCZ Agility II 240GB SSD
Lite-On 20x DVD-RW : ASUS 24x DVD-RW
EVGA 560ti SC
Hauppauge HVR-2250 - Seagate 500G
Samsung 22" SyncMaster LCD (226BW)
CoolerMaster 690 II Advanced

update from ATI:

"Catalyst 10.6 does not have GPU acceleration enabled for VLC player. AMD has been in contact with VideoLAN concerning this issue and a solution is in the final stages of development, and will be available very soon in an upcoming Catalyst driver release."

I see no mention of wtv support.

Looks like VLC is ready to come out with version 1.1.1 and it when AMD CATALYST 10.7 drivers come out, GPU decoding is supported.

The latest released version of VLC, 1.1.0, that was out a week ago, and has been downloaded half-a-dozen millions times so far, has added GPU acceleration for HD decoding under Linux and Windows. On Windows, as already stated, the code isn't working correctly with AMD Radeon cards.
Therefore, we have been working with AMD on this topic and after common work, we are going to release a new version of VLC, versionned as 1.1.1, that will work with the upcoming ATI Catalyst 10.7 driver. AMD did provide us a beta of this driver and we have verified successfully that GPU acceleration works.
Thanks for your understanding and your support.

Changes between 1.1.0 and 1.1.1:

libVLC:
Support for the new capabilities: libvlc_adjust_Enable, libvlc_adjust_Contrast,
libvlc_adjust_Brightness, libvlc_adjust_Hue, libvlc_adjust_Saturation, libvlc_adjust_Gamma
Various fixes and crash preventions, especially when video functions were called early

Stream output:
Fix h264 streaming in ts

Windows and Mac port:
Fix mod files support

Decoders:
Fix performance issues with GPU decoding using DxVA2 using ATI graphic cards
You NEED ATI Catalyst 10.7

MacOS:
Interface and crash fixes
