Intel D975XBX Mobo Issues

Postby xardoz » Wed Sep 28, 2011 10:49 pm

I recent purchased new memory for my Intel D975XBX Motherboard.
It has the latest BIOS Update.

Using Crucial memory configurator I bought the CT2KIT25664AA1067

When I go into BIOS, it reports SPD Not Supported! Although the machine boots and run fine.

Here is a link for the CPUZ Information: http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2014739

I have a new Processor for the system, but am waiting on resolving this issue first.
E6700, 3.2 Ghz, 2Mb Cache

Any Ideas?

OK< another issue...

On Intel's page it shows with the updated BIOS I can use the E4700 Processor.
When I put it in the system, I get nothing.

I would re-instal windows and start from the beginning. As if it were a new build. That way you know for sure that there are no driver conflicts.

By I get nothing, I mean no POST/BIOS Screens

The Power Light comes on, Fans Spin and no video or activity.

Put the old Pentium-D in and boots just fine.

The intel d975bx was a earlier model of intel d975bx2 (bad axe) I have the bad axe 2 model. Pull the bsod battery and see if that helps. http://www.intel.com/products/motherboard/d975xbx/ do all the spec match up? Looks like it depends on what revision of motherboard you have. http://processormatch.intel.com/COMPDB/ ... me=d975xbx It seems to matter. http://processormatch.intel.com/CompDB/ ... lamp=False

Sorry about that, I was looking at the E6700. It should work. Make sure all your connections are good.

Have you tried disconnecting the power and the battery? Doing that will clear the CMOS, I usually leave it disconnected/removed for a few minutes while periodically holding the power button down to make sure all the caps have been discharged.

I had some of the same issues with the D975XBX2 with 4GB of Ram. I moved to 8GB(maxed out) and the latest bios; all problems cleared up. Runs like a clock for last 3 years.
