About rebuilding MBR

Postby Sudeep » Fri Jun 15, 2012 6:56 am

Does rebuilding MBR harms hard disk data(ie does it erases data ?)
I have installed Ubuntu alongside windows 7(inside Windows 7 with dual boot, no separate partition). And I need to remove GRUB so remove Linux completely. I know that it can be done by rebuilding MBR. If i uninstall Ubuntu from windows, it will uninstall but the GRUB remains as it is and windows cannot be booted. Any other idea to remove Linux installed inside windows ?????

It doesn't affect the data on the drive, but if not done correctly it can leave the HDD unbootable
It's not too difficult to install a new bootloader if that happens, so don't worry.
