Confused between Intel Core i5 2300 and AMD phenom II 2.8ghz

How do motherboard choices and cooling solutions look for each platform?

Those two platforms are very different and is more than just a processor brand difference.

I have one options of choosing either of one processors along with its supported motherboard,but i can't decide which one is better!

Personally the AMD be the better choice out of the two because you can overclock it, the i5 you listed is going to be seriously limited on overclock ability. but that's just my opinion.
