I currently play a bit of CS 1.5 since i cant get steam to work properly
If it would work i would probably play Natural Selection since it is my favorite HL modification

CS1.6 is really iffy because of its used of STEAM...

I used to play some CS, but now switched to UT2004 and HALO mostly....

I can install steam, afterwards it doesn't work
i use my friend's cdkey since he doesn't play HL anymoe.
at first it was ok but a day after steam refused to work, like the cdkey just disappeared, and when i try to enter it it says it's wrong or something like that.

however, I can still play 1.5 with that cdkey...

When did you try to install Steam and what settings did you set?
When you install it asks if you want to keep old settings seperate or together, what did you choose? I chose seperate.

If you tried to install and run Steam a while ago, then you probably had problems as their first couple of releases were very buggy. Now, it's fairly stable all the way through.
