Installing XP on Vista Machine

Postby theugdude » Sun Feb 11, 2007 2:36 pm

Is it possible to install XP on a Vista Machine without wiping the HDD. I just got a vista laptop but some programs that I would like to use can not run on the vista OS. Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks.

EASY - http://blog.tokash.org/2006/01/20/xp-an ... dual-boot/

well it sounds easy..lol...hopefully this will work for you

Mike

If all else fails, just swap hard drives :( but the dual boot shoudl work, I have read some people say you have to have XP installed first, but if you seperate the partitions I dont see why it matters??

Thanks for the posts. From everything I see the dual boot works only if you have XP running. But because I have vista I just have to wipe the HDD. I hope it will be an "easy" ride.

I think xp has to be the first installed because Vista uses a new boot manager :(
