How America "Looks" After The Election

I've been so slammed lately I haven't been posting much, but I couldn't pass this one up. I'm not sure where this image came from since a friend sent it to me through AIM! I think this might spark some interest!

Which part do you belong? The United States of Canada or Jesusland? Looks like I am part of Jesusland! Does anyone else get 13 year old kids in suits knocking on their door trying to convert them to some weird religion about once a week?

Don't want me to go there. I really don't agree with either.

<liberal perspective>
If done properly, i.e. using the federal reserve model, then it would likely cost us a lot less. I don’t know how much because I’m not an expert but from what I have read it looks like it would also help us stay healthy. One of the strange things is that Americans actually don’t live as long as our Canadian and European friends. The one thing I would like to see is a real country wide discussion of this rather than just point counter point. and I must admit that I really don’t know all that much about it. Hope to soon though as its something I feel strong about.

yeah...free healthcare would be nice...I wish I knew more about it. Since the money is going towards paying for healthcare, would money be taken away from research?

Just much higher taxes...................... :shock: When I lived in Germany we had "free health care". But when you look at your tax statement you could crap your pants, my med taxes were around 500DM a month at that time. I'd hate to see what it is now days.

yeah that is the potentail downside, but it would be interesting to see. I have a funny feeling that we pay more under the current system then we would with a single payer systme.

not really free... higher taxes for everyone and the tax breaks we are getting now would never have happened with a healthcare system like Canada.
