Kingston Technology Has 2GB DDR3 Memory Modules Ready

Kingston Technology has 2GB DDR3 HyperX memory modules ready to go and I have my hands on some sets that seem to be pretty killer. A couple other companies sent out press 1GB kits at 800MHz and 1066Mhz, but very few 2GB kits have been seen. Kingston has FAST kits coming out... I'm not sure if I can mention the frequency and timings, so I'll hold off for now....

Kingston once again shows that they are ready to meet the demands of enthusiasts by being one of the first companies to have the memory ready let alone having a full HyperX line that is ready to kick off. Could DDR3 bring the HyperX line back to enthusiasts?

I still have to do more testing with 1333Mhz FSB and 1333Mhz memory to see what it really does... I like the 1:1 ratio that the news Intel CPU's will offer with 1333MHz FSB modules... Not sure what the enthusiast timings will be yet to be honest.

Thats not actually true 1:1 though is it? Because the FSB is still Quad-pumped it means that you only need 667MHz RAM to run at 1:1. But damn does it sound good.

I was going to ask about temps, as 1333 is pretty insane for memory, but DDR3 should use less volts than DDR2 so they should be pretty reasonable (provided that this RAM is using recommended DDR3 voltages )

yeah... I didn't have my morning tea... Not thinking straight yet... Rumor has it over at Xtreme Systsmts that someone got one these P35 boards up to 700Mhz FSB and if that is true you could do 1:1 ;)

As for the temperatures... The voltages start out at 1.5V and I think some 1066Mhz modules will be at 1.5V from what I have been hearing, so that is interesting.

Default timings for DDR3 are ~6-6-6-6???
I've also read that the actual chip (IC's) can prefect more data, supposedly even with loose timings DDR3 is faster in bandwidth............?

I can't wait till the NDA's are lifted..........
Can you post a Sandra benchmark yet?

Correct, you need a chipset that supports DDR3 RAM, and sofar the only one that does that is out (not sure if its an official out yet) is the P35 line from intel. And even then some of the P35 motherboard makers have opted to use DDR2.

DDR3 doesn't even line up with a DDR2, so you couldn't even plug it in!

I just checked with Ingram Micro, TechData, Synnex and ASI and they have these parts in stock. These are all distributors that have the product. Public e-tail and retail will have these in stock on June 5th as Kingston and other memory companies are waiting for the 'official' launch of DDR3.
