Playing with Crucial Ballistix 2GB kit

I'm running them on my not-so-great ASUS M2N-E until I upgrade, so I can push more than 1.95V through them.

Did some testing tonight!

System specs:
AMD X2 4200 @ 2660 (10x 266)
ASUS M2N-E
2x 1GB PC2-8500 Crucial Ballistix

Here's some benchmark results (8 hour memtest/ORTHOS stable (both manually stopped)

1064Mhz-5-5-5-15-20-2T@1.95V
Sandra XII
Int : 10088,2 MB/s
Float : 10110 MB/s

EVEREST Ultimate 4.00
Read : 8781,6 MB/s
Write : 7650,4 MB/s
Copy : 9240 MB/s
Latency : 43,54 MB/s

Looks pretty good considering they are undervolted and running stock (read: loose) timings. I don't have anything on hand to compare it to since most of the latest memory benchmarks are done on Intel platforms and we all know AMD has a pretty big advantage with memory bandwidth. Anyways, I can't go much faster than that due to limited voltage options on the M2N-E and the nForce 570 is more of a budget chipset which doesn't help overclocking either. I'm sure I could get better numbers on a 590SLI board (Accepting donations  ), but I'm not buying anything else before Phenom and new GPUs are released.

Oh and, only 2-3 more weeks before Barcelona is released!

nice... will they do CL4 at 1066? Welcome to the 10GB/Sec club :supz: Also post a picture of the modules if you could!

I tried 4-4-4 at 1000Mhz and it didn't post (most likely voltage limitations), I didn't try tweaking it more than that yet. I'll post some pictures this week, the orange heatspreaders look so sweet!

Now that I have these modules, I might take the soldering gun out and "fix" Vdimm issues on this mobo 8)

Going to do some benchmarking sometime this week, results look good so far ;)
