D975XBX2 - Added Memory - Won't Post

I have been running a D975XBX2 - E6600(O/C 2.6) - 2gig OCZ (2x1mb) using bios 2507 for a year without issue. I added 2 more gig OCZ (identical memory) into the black slots for a total of 4gig. My sytem hangs when turned on. I tried the new memory in a 2 gig only setup and it is fine. Any help would be appreciated.

Try adding .5v to the memory and or chipset.

try upping the voltage on the nb. many nbs have a lot of trouble handaling 4x1 gig. also make sure your timings and voltages on the memory are auto setting to teh correctvalues, if not you will have to adjust them manually

TCL = 4
TRCP = 4
TRP = 4
TRASIM = 15
Mem Voltage = 2.20 (Next settings up are 2.24-2.28-2.32)

Which of the above voltages should I Use

I am not sure if you are refering any other advanced settings changes

2.2v is more than enough for most 4x 1GB setups. You can try 2.24v.
You should look for an option called "MCH Voltage" or something like that. This is the Chip Set voltage. Try increasing this a tad, as martini161 said, 4 x 1GB can put a lot of stress on the chipset.
If you get it stable, I'd try lowering the memory voltage a tad, if you can.
I run 4 x 1GB sticks with 2.15v and they get hot, I have to have a fan blowing on them as there's no airflow otherwise and the DIMM's only heat each other up even more.
You're running @ 667MHz compared to my 960MHz, so 2.2v is a bit much IMO

well first of all you are underclocking your memory, but thats besides the point. so have you tried increaseing the voltage on the nb at all yet? because you definatly have enough juice going to the memory

"nb" is the chipset (or memory controller) on the motherboard. It's under the big silver heastsink

In the BIOS it's called "MCH Voltage Override"
Try increasing this a bit for stability

My MCH is already at 1.525. I also tried setting the timings to 5-5-5. When I purchased the D975XBX2 I had a hard time getting it to O/C at 2.6. As I mentioned I have been running fine for a year. I think that I am going scrap my plans of upgrading the memory. The D975XBX2 seems to be a set it and leave it type board. Thanks to those that responded.

sorry about that, i have trouble with assuming things. you know what they say, when i assume i make an ass of you and me

and kenc doesnt mean to put it at 1.525, i belive that was an example. try bumping it to the next step or two, some thing like 1.55 or 1.575

Also, Have you tested the new RAM sticks? One might be bad!

See if it will boot with one stick @ a time and do this will all the sticks.

also try testing your old ram in the black slots instead of the blue ones. sometimes memory slots are bad
