Trying to help my CPU
I am currently using a GE Force 8400 with 567 GPU clock and 500mb memory. I use my system for audio recording and it seems that when the graphics are loaded up (or things are moving) it loads down the audio with pops and clicks. I'm wondering if a better Graphics Card would help this problem. I've r...

Re: Over clocking socket 775
Thanks,
That about covers it. It would be better for me to just buy a new computer than risk all that.
Thanks again

Over clocking socket 775
Hi, I'm running a Quad core 2.8 socket 775, I replaced the motherboard with a gigabyte that is set-up for overclocking. I would like to bring the CPU up to about 3.3. Is it safer/better to buy software that will help me overclock, I've read that there is more to it than just changing the CPU freq an...

Phenom II vrs Athlon II
What is the difference between the Phenom II and the Athlon II ?
It looks like the Athlon is less expensive. I'm looking for a simple AMD Dual core, I dont need to overclock it etc.

Re: CPU Temp ???
Thanks, Appreciate all the help. So far everything is fine with the old CPU. So either its defective or your right and it cant handle the 95w set-up. Hopefully I can return it for credit and buy a motherboard and CPU meant to work together, thats the safest bet. Thanks again for your time and help. ...

Re: CPU Temp ???
No real clue, just goes out after about 10min, whether its under load or idling. The CPU temp software says the CPU starts about 17c but it goes as high as 27c, +10c ? I noticed the case had no fan I just put a new fan in the case, so I'll watch the temp now.
Thanks again

Re: CPU Temp ???
Your problem could be caused by the new processor that you installed; your motherboard might not have fully compatibility/support for it. In another of your posts, you said you have a ACER RS740DVF motherboard and a AM2 single-core processor. Then you replaced it with a AM2+ Athlon Dual-core 'Black...

CPU Temp ???

Re: AM2 or AM2+
No, should I have cleared the CMOS in the BIOS? How would you proceed? Clear CMOS before installing the new CPU? Remember the new CPU doesnt POST so I cant access BIOS after new CPU.

CPU watt(s) question ???
How does the CPU watt rating effect the system? I'm upgrading from a low watt 45w single core CPU to a newer dual core 95w CPU. Do I have to change/upgrade the power supply?
Also are AM2 and AM2+ the same?
Is an AM2+ CPU compatible with an AM2 motherboard?

Re: BOOT MGR Missing!
Thanks really appreciate your help!
Silly me, the USB keyboard was disabled in the BIOS so it wasnt getting the Boot from CD command and kept going to the HDD .
So far repair/install all is well.
Windows 7 is a bit nicer than Vista.
Thanks again.

I am trying to install Windows 7 OEM on my computer. I did something wrong because: If I boot from the Windows 7 DVD drive with the HDD drive connected, I get the Boot MGR Missing. If I boot from the Windows 7 DVD drive with the HDD disconnected, the computer will boot up, but none of the repair opt...
