Alright, thanks for the input.

Windows XP Professional x64 is also another option.

Oh, I have. Don't get me wrong the i7 Benchmarks scream speed, but with all new technologies, I don't want to rush in on purchasing anything that hasn't had a proven track record yet.

Core i7 or Core 2 Duo Platform

I have two processors that I am looking at on the Egg. Basically, I'm trying to decide if I want to go with a more "mature" platform and stick with the newer Core 2 Duo processor, or go to the Core i7 Processors. I'm debating between these two: Core i7: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...

1000pts a week isn't all too shabby.

On my Pentium D, I get prolly ~1300pts a week with running only one instance of folding and using 50% of the processor.

Some people on here are turning out 2000+ pts a day. Don't worry though, they just have too much free time :P

Welcome to the team. I need to get some of my folders back up and running. Will probably do that after I move. Back to the question. It mainly depends on what type of core it's processing as (Amber, Gromacs, DGromacs, etc...). Some information on the different types of processing cores and other gen...

As I was telling my brother last night, Thank God I don't have a car or a drivers license. My car would always be sitting in my driveway because I couldn't afford the gas for it.

I still remember the good ole' days when I seen gas for for 67 cents.

The FON Router is generally a Linksys, atleast that's what mine was. Bought it for $1.00, the day FedEx delivered it I flashed with with the HyperWRT firmware.

It's some nice firmware, adds a lot more features and overall a lot more stable than the default Linksys IMO.

I've actually noticed improvements in all games I've played on a 64bit Operating Systems.

I've not had one single issue with XP x64, and It runs everything I need it to perfectly, faster, and smoother.

I use Acronis TrueImage Workstation. Best harddrive imaging software I've found to date.

It will image ANY OS I've ever ran here (NT4, 2000, XP, XPx64, Server 2003, and Linux).

I'm staying away from the 22" X-Gamer version of this monitor. I've been reading a lot of bad reviews on it, especially with the DVI connector wanting to go out after two months.
