Re: Problems during Power Up

So I tried to fix stuff last night. I tried changing RAM slots, swapping HDD connectors, etc. Still had the same problem this morning. I then had to try to find a PSU with an 8-pin ATX 12v connector, my old one was a 4-pin. Went to the shop and the only one they had was $75. I didn't want to spend ...

Re: ASUS My Cinema EHD3-100 Dual Hybrid TV Card Review

Hi! Do you have the TV Pack for Vista? It's not an update; either you bought it with the TV Pack or you don't have it. If you don't have it (like me, lol), can you get OTA sub-channels and their respective guide data? Like, 27.1 is the main channel. Do you get any sub-channels to begin with? Glad th...

Re: Memory bandwidth tests... differences (PC5300 vs. PC8888)

Yup. I'll have to show this chart to a friend of mine...He swears his 1066MHz Cosair Dominators are faster than my 800MHz OCZ Reapers. If I recall correctly, there was an X-Bit Article on memory. However, I think the comparison was DDR2/DDR3 with differing speeds/latencies. However, the improvment w...

Definitely check the connectors. Try reseating the graphic card, too. That has been the case plenty of times for my friends and me.

Re: ECS GeForce 8800 GT Video Card Review - N8800GT-256MX

Pretty smart idea ECS got there ;) Well, good for you, bad (ish) for them. Depends if it costs more money to remove the chips than to just leave them on, because, logically thinking, it costs more to put memory on products and then not be able to sell them at the price-point of a 512MB card because...

Re: ECS GeForce 8800 GT Video Card Review - N8800GT-256MX

True. The 8800GTS G80 cards only have 96 stream processors, so that kind of hurts, lol, versus the GTS 512MB/GTX's 128SP and then GT/GTS 640MB SSC cards that have 112SP. Also, the G92 cards (GTS 512MB/GT) overclock *MUCH* higher. See that 700MHz clock? A G80 card could never dream of that without vo...

Re: WD Now Shipping WD Caviar SE16 640GB 3.5-inch hard drives

Yes, the Newegg link is gone. Deactivated, from what I've heard. I have had my eye on this drive for many weeks; transfer rate is approximately 95MB/s with access times of 12.2ms, which puts this as one of the fastest, if not THE, fastest 7200RPM drive available. But I've only read user reviews so I...

Re: Bf2 Ports

Weird. I don't think there are any specific ones, at least none were created in either Windows Firewall or my router's configuration. For the record, I've had no connectivity issues. Worked straight out of the box. If you are using a server, these are the ports you'll need to create triggers/forward...

Re: Nvidia PCI-E Video Card

They're absolutely right. The 640MB isn't worth the extra premium. I heard that the 640MB would fare better in DX10 games, but have not gotten ANY conclusive proof on that. If you are *really* set on the 640MB, eVGA is selling one at $349.99 after MIR...

Re: Control Panel not opening up.

Hmm...I personally don't like Driver Cleaner, as I heard it left files left over. Try this program http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1655 in Safe Mode because it won't delete files that are in use, like your display driver files. Safe Mode, AFAIK, uses a generic VGA driver. Amazing how on...

Re: NVIDIA Forceware 163.44 Beta Drivers For Bioshock

I would install 163.44, but it seems like Clone doesn't seem to be working very well. I also would install the hotfixes, but I heard they have some problems with driver-signing? And I think there are actually 5 hotfixes, they didn't mention the one about 2GB addressing. Great article, however. For u...

If you have a FX card, HOWEVER, you need 96.85...

Those drivers on the CD are probably quite old. Try the new Vista ones at nVidia's site.

You guys, eVGA is only doing what is really American: suing to make enough money so you can do what they just did and not get caught!

Hilarious! I love it! I wait for eVGA's response.

PLEASE, MICROSOFT, PLEASE make a reply to those Mac commercials. I already have many good ideas:

1)Gaming
2)Security through Obscurity
3)Programs
4)Upgradeability
5)Price
