Next generation "ZEN" chips? New CEO.
AMD has transitioned from CEO Rory Read to Lisa Su (formerly COO). Some sources are surprised and think it is a big shakeup. I tend to agree with some others that this was planned and Read was a transitional guy to expand AMD so all their apples were not in the same basket and push it forward, utili...

GTX 970
This card seems quite impressive, especially since the price point is just right! The major retailers and e-tailers are OUT OF STOCK of 970s right now in every brand. There was just one unit of an EVGA reference model available on Newegg. :( If I'm getting a great card like that, I'll game hard and ...

LR Makeover
I just wanted to make mention of the "new look" of the main website. It looks more like other professional websites. The scrolling news topics are very cool. That is the single best addition. The new fonts, etc. are nice. The worst addition is the increased advertisements and their size. :...

Re: Satechi 10-Port USB 3.0 Hub UH3-10P Review
If other folks are like me, they are realizing they have a need for a product like this. In our family of 6, we each have a cell phone as well as 3 e-readers. I recently noticed power strips combining usb with the traditional outlets and considered a purchase. This product is even better since it wi...

Re: Phenom II x6 1035t Good For Gaming?
If you already have the x6 1035, you'll still see a performance jump with that over the 9850. You would be better off with an x4 with higher clock speeds for gaming imo.

I have to say this: I like Rosewill, I have one of their power supplies in my son's computer. It runs great. However, the name of this PSU cracks me up, since I can only think of Will Ferrell in Land of the Lost with the Tachyon Amplifier. :D

It sounds like AMD is turning out some exciting APUs and the competition with Intel in this market share is VERY interesting! ;)

Re: CES 2013: OCZ Shows Of Their PCIe Vector SSD
I don't yet know too much about PCIe SSD drives. I hope to see future testing of these drives in the various pcie ports on mobos. For example, will it run faster on pcie 3.0 vs. 2.0? I would think so. Also, I'm one of those folks who would not want to give up a slot on my mobo from my gpu or gpuS in...

Re: AMD A10-5800K Trinity Desktop APU Review
I find it quite impressive that the Trinity chip kills Ivy Bridge in gaming, because of the graphics. Now, you would think that AMD rumors of sale would be foolish when they have "some" things going in the right direction. Of course Intel's processors are way ahead, but their on-chip graph...

Re: AMD is up for sale
With the recent change of CEO you would think they would be working toward profitability in the early stage of his tenure. Aren't the gpus selling?? They are/were ahead of Intel imo in the idea of combining cpu/gpu, etc. How can they not fight to stay on top, jump into the small device market with t...

Re: Athlon 64 3000+ upgrading to Athlon 64 X2 5800+
You will see a huge difference going from the 3000 (I had one) to the 5800. However, both are old tech. I understand you're trying to fit in a tight budget. The recommendations above are fine, but you could get a very nice mobo for about $50 at Newegg. There are several to choose from, MSI, Asrock, ...

Re: HIS gpu software Iturbo has virus
Thanks. I was able to reinstall my CCC. I had to go through multiple directories deleting any folder that was titled AMD or ATI. Then I had to delete some registry keys to clean it out completely. The reinstall of 12.6 whql went successfully after that. :) I just figured since I had a "HIS"...

HIS gpu software Iturbo has virus
I just tried downloading HIS company's new program for controlling your graphics card called I-turbo. I downloaded it from their official site and Norton flagged it and removed it. The virus is named as follows: WS.Reputation.1 It's a shame, I really wanted to try that program since my CCC software ...

Re: AMD Licenses ARM Technology - ARM TrustZone technology
With all the bad press AMD gets, I think they've put themselves in a position to ensure their future. The companies involved have put some good forward thought into their plans. Intel is a step behind in this regard, at least for now. I could see them catching up, but their path isn't the same right...
